The Making of Marshmallow Cones

We make everything from scratch at our factory.  This page gives a general overview of the steps involved in manufacturing our Marshmallow Cones.

First, we bake our cones from scratch using large, gas-fired rotary baking machines and we pack them into boxes like the one pictured below.

Then we put the cones on the trays.

Once the cones are on the trays, we use our 70-year-old recipe to make batches of old-fashioned real marshmallow.  Pictured below is a batch being mixed in our holding tank.  While it may look like marshmallow in the picture, that is actually froth created by the agitation motor.  From the holding tank the liquid mixture is run through a whipping machine and turned into our famous real marshmallow for topping the cones.

The trays are then placed on the depositor . . .

. . . and when they come out they are Marshmallow Cones.

We stack the trays on dollies and put them in a heated curing room so they are easier to pack.

When they are ready we run them through the packing line.  Sugar is applied to aid in packing the cones.

Out the other end of the packing lines, the Marshmallow Cones are packed into tubs, buckets, boxes, cases or anything else in which a Marshmallow Cone can be packed.

And then they are moved out of the packing room into our large warehouse to await hungry kids and nostalgic adults!

Hope you liked the tour.  Below our spokeswoman says "Enjoy Marshmallow Cones!"
